Toddlers and Tiaras.

I have heard about little girls beauty pageants and also heard of the TV show "Toddlers & Tiaras" on TLC. I was able to actually sit down and watch it and what I saw was down right appalling. First thing that made me disgusted was the fact that the parents wouldn't let there little girls be kids. They were taking them to get waxed and spray on tans and all this other stuff. Then packing on 40lbs of makeup and making them look like they were in there 20's. It reminded me of this...

What disturbs me about the whole thing is the fact that a mother would let her daughter dress in such a way. These are suppose to be children..Not little pageant queens. I would NOT let my daughter put on as much makeup as I see those girls put on. And I will not like them prance around in little outfits that I wouldn't consider acceptable even on HALLOWEEN for a child of that age!

I am so glad that I will never let my daughter do this and I am so glad that Nick agrees with this. I am going to teach my daughter that she is beautiful the way that God made her and she doesn't need to win a trophy or money to prove this. She is beautiful just the way that she is....

Like my friend Kendra Culver said about this in a email we exchanged...

" I don't know who I want to slap harder, the bratty prissy little girls or the stupid overbearing mothers for putting their children through that. "

Babies. Babies. Everywhere!

I have so many friends with babies lately. And it seems like every day another one of my friends is pregnant. It gets me so excited! I can't wait to have children and my own little family! People have asked when Nick and I want children and we've talked about 6-12months after we've been married. I'm more on the 6 months area, he's more on the 12.

He is the oldest of three and I'm the youngest of 7. I want to have three kids & Nick only wants two. Nick is OCD about numbers so maybe that'd say why he only wants two. Ha ha ha! Don't ask..He's a weird one!

I really start to wonder though about the kind of parents were going to be. I was brought up in a very strict house hold and I hope I'm not as strict as my parents were. But I don't want to be so laid back that my children are running around getting into any kind of shennanagins on a daily basis! One thing that Nick and I both will teach our children is the value of money. They will have to work for anything they want, not just getting things handed to them. Because both of us had to work for everything we've ever bought and we know the value of money!

So to be upfront I guess i'm actually ready to settle down and have a family..Crazy to think 15 months at the earliest I might be pregnant? That is so crazy to think!! I am so excited and to have a little family!!

Ugh. Why did I start again?

Over the weekend I regretted starting to blog again. A person that I mentioned in the 'Cruse of the engagement ring blog,' somehow stalked and found my blog. I have NO idea HOW because she isn't on my Facebook. I ended up getting annoying texted messages demanding I call her and all this. SO I put a block on her phone number from calling or texting my phone, I also got rid of that blog {That was in the heat of the moment, I regret deleting it now}. Then I changed my settings on my blog. So hopefully that all works.
Ugh! I didn't even use names and she still found it. So weird. It had to have been someone that knew the story and then went ahead and told her gave her the link and so on. Ugh who cares. It's just annoying.
I like to think that a blog you can type what your feeling like a journal. It's just annoying when someone takes things so seriously sometimes.
Ugh. But right now. I am so thankful that friend isn't a part of my wedding party. For the past few months I've had a first hand look at her true colors and it's sad. I really thought she was a good friend of mine, but she wasn't......
It just hurts. How do you 'KNOW' when someone is really your friend these days? People seem to be so mean and just horrible towards you but when your face to face with them they act like your 'best friend.' I wish there was red-alert buttons that went off so you knew when you were getting played. Glad I found out before it was too late!!

Bridezilla Alert!

I remember awhile back someone asked me if I had turned into a 'Bridezilla' yet. You know that crazy Bride that is just down right..Well Crazy! I told that person 'Nah I doubt I will until closer to the wedding."

How wrong was I! This week I had my first official bridezilla moment. Luckily I didn't trash out at anybody.... But I was getting down right stressed about getting addresses for the save-the-dates & the invites. From my family & Nicks family. I came to the conclusion that Nick said he'd get the ones from his family & I'd worry about my family. It was just far too much stress for me to worry about both.

I really didn't think I'd ever turn into a Bridezilla. But now I understand those ladies that do. I mean a Wedding is a beautiful day, and every girl dreams of there day. Some come back and say "Eh it's just a wedding." But to every girl that has ever worn a sheet on there head and walked down the hallway with heels and a bouquet of fake flowers it's a day that they want nothing less of perfection. My theory of my wedding day...Is Perfection on a budget. :]

But I want the day to be perfect. & It will be. I'll have my family, my friends, and my prince charming. And that's all that this Princess needs on her wedding day!

I hate being a grown up!

Sometimes I can honestly say that being an adult sucks. Paying bills sucks the most.

I have ALWAYS been the one to pay my bills on time and never have a running balance on anything. This also includes medical bills. I went to Urgent care like 6 months ago with GI issues and when they started to send me bills my insurance and the bills didn't match up. So I went into urgent care they recoded it and sent it back in and told me not to worry about it till they got things fixed. A few months go by and my amount raises! So I go back in asking what is going on and they said we'll pay off your amount it's the office visit and your insurance will cover that. So last month I paid off my amount in full and thought that was the last of that stupid bill... I open my mail box and BAM another bill. I call them and ask what is going on and they come to tell me my insurance that I pay for {Over 100 bucks a month; I believe it's 64 something a paycheck} only covered 21.00$ of this entire bill. I guess because they did labs in the visit that it goes towards my deductible that I have to reach. Which makes sense... But why on earth for months did they keep telling me & I quote "Don't worry your insurance will cover that portion." Then come back and tell me something else?

Luckily I have savings and I paid it off in full {The lady was nice and took off the extra finance charges after I told her about all my visits and them promising me this and then tossing the bill on me in the end}.

This is yet another reason why I hate going to the doctor in general if I am sick. Because I always have to deal with stupid insurance stuff in the end! Oy!

Holidays.

As Christmas is approaching we find our selfs forgetting what the true meaning of these Holidays really are. We get so caught up in the hustle & bustle of buying gifts, and decorating, ect. that we really do just forget what the day means.

Back in High School on Christmas day night we had a house fire {I wont go into the details of this, so please don't ask}. That night as myself and my Mom were driving away from the house the last thing I remember seeing was the Christmas tree in the window, and smoke coming out all the other windows. Since then I've had a whole different perspective on Christmas.

I don't really go all out on gifts anymore, or decorating, or really any of that. I've learned that it's the simple things in life that I am thankful for. A roof over my head, clothes on my back, and my family.

This week my dear friend Brandi introduced me to buying a gift for a Angel for DSS {Social services} in Rapid City. I told her I'd love too! I got a paper a few days ago about a child, it had her name on it & that she was 22 months old. Today I went to target and had so much fun buying gifts for this little girl. It warmed my heart & soul knowing that I'd be putting a smile on that little girls face. I bought her some blocks, a sock monkey, and two long sleeved shirts. Then I stopped by & dropped it off at DSS. I walked out of their knowing the real meaning on Christmas. Helping others who have less than me. I could care less what I got for Christmas. I could get a single Christmas card and nothing else & be okay with it. But doing that for that little girl warmed my heart and my soul.

So this Holiday season please don't forget to take a moment and look around you and see what you have to be thankful for. Remember that some have a lot less than you, and I. Don't forget to be thankful for the simple blessings in your own life.

Happy Holidays to All :]
